DAY TRIP THROUGH THE MEADOW
DAY TRIP THROUGH THE MEADOW
A TRIP THROUGH THE MEADOW SOON AFTER SPRING BEGAN REVEALED NOTHING NEW, NOTHING I DIDN'T ALREADY KNOW; IT WAS MORE THAN JUST ANOTHER DAY, IT WAS A DAY TRIP I HADN'T TAKEN FOR SO LONG, I COULDN'T SAY WHAT YEAR IT WAS WHEN LAST I WALKED THROUGH MEADOW GRASS AS HIGH AS MY CHIN. BUT THAT WAS THEN, TOO LONG AGO TO RECALL THE SCENT OF MEADOW GRASS IN BLOOM, THE SUDDEN START OF A GRASSHOPPER'S JOURNEY INTO THE BEGINNING OF A SUMMER ROMANCE FAR FROM THE RED BARN'S SHADOW, FAR FROM THE FARMER'S HOUSE, FAR FROM THE FUTURE WHERE I WALKED WITHOUT A FEAR OF WHAT HAPPENS AFTER LIFE, FAR FROM WHERE I THOUGHT I THOUGHT I WOULD BE OR WHAT I WOULD BE ON A LATE SPRING DAY, SOME SIXTY YEARS FROM THEN, TOO FAR TO EVER EVEN HALF SUPPOSE I WOULD SOMEHOW STAY SEVEN, OR SO IT SEEMED FOREVER, SO ANXIOUS TO GROW UP AND GO SEE MUCH MORE THAN BARNS AND GRASS THAT WAS HIGHER THAN MY HEAD.

circle of life
Window
IT IS NOT THE WINDOW THAT QUALIFIES THIS IMAGE FOR ITS EXCELLENCE, IT IS THE PHOTOGRAPHER'S CHOICE OF SELECTING THIS PHOTO FOR PRESERVATION AND EXHIBITION
DAVID KYLE CRAIG, ONE OF CALIFORNIA'S FINEST PHOTOGRAPHERS HAS LONG DEMONSTRATED HIS EXCELLENCE IN CHOICE OF SUBJECTS. FROM HIS BEACHFRONT PHOTOS TO HIS MOUNTAINTOP VISTAS, DAVE CONTINUES TO PROVIDE A WIDE ARRAY OF INTERESTING AND BREATHTAKING PHOTOGRAPHS.
ALTHOUGH THERE ARE THOSE WHO MIGHT NOT PLACE THIS PHOTO ON THE LEVEL OF AN "ART PHOTO," IT IS, BY MY CHOICE, NOT ONLY AN ART PHOTO BUT A PHOTO THAT HAS AN APPEAL TO THE TACTILE SENSES.
CAN YOU IMAGINE THE CARE ONE WOULD USE IF ONE DECIDED TO RUN ONE'S PALM OVER THE SURFACE OF THESE AGED BOARDS. SO, IT IS NOT A PHOTO THAT ONE STANDS BACK WITH ADMIRATION AND SIGHS "AWWWW," IT IS A PHOTO THAT, WITH A BIT OF IMAGINATION, ONE MIGHT TIGHTEN UP THE MUSCLES AND SAY "OUCH." THIS IS DEFINITELY WORTHY OF MUCH ATTENTION AND ADMIRATION.
