YOU HAVE CREATED COLLECTIONS THAT REFLECT SLICES OF LIFE IN AMERICA THAT ARE TOO FREQUENTLY IGNORED. IT IS NOT THAT I VIEW YOUR PHOTOS AS A STATEMENT FOR SOCIAL CHANGE, NOT AT ALL; NOR DO I FEEL YOU ARE MAKING LIGHT OF SOCIETY. YOU ARE OBVIOUSLY A REALIST, A REALIST WHO LOVES AMERICA AND ITS PEOPLE. WHAT I THINK DOES NOT MATTER, BUT TO EXERCISE MY FREEDOM OF SPEECH I JUST WANT TO MAKE A COMMENT ON YOUR INSIGHT ABOUT THE DIVERSITY OF AMERICA. I BELIEVE YOU LOVE AMERICA AS MUCH AS I DO; IT DOES NOT HAVE TO BE PRESENTED ON A SILVER PLATTER, IT CAN BE EATEN WITH A SPOON OUT OF A CAN AND BE FULL OF REAL FLAVOR. THANKS TO YOU FOR YOUR PRESENTATIONS; YOUR ARE ONE FINE PHOTOGRAPHER. HOPEFULLY, YOU WILL HAVE AN EXHIBIT THAT WILL BE SEEN AT GALLERIES, PUBLIC AND PRIVATE, THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES AND OTHER NATIONS. IF THERE IS ANYTHING I CAN DO TO HELP YOU IN THIS MATTER, LET ME KNOW. Robert L. Huffstutter"

More Doors
HOW CURIOUS ARE YOU, THE VIEWER NOW LOOKING AT THIS MYSTERIOUS DOOR? But perhaps there is no mystery lurking behind the door, but only several cats who will be glad you are home. But let us paint another scene: you are somewhere in the Ozarks and out of gas. There are no other homes in view and it is almost dark, twilight time. (Add music from Twilight Zone here and pan camera on your eyes as you squint to see if you can identify the figure inside the door. It is not a person. No, it is much larger and has what a appears to be four legs). You are a trifle anxious and begging off knocking. There is suddenly a noise behind you. You turn and see two Dobermans standing about a yard away. You are now between moments.of decision. As you concentrate your energy on one of sevral decision, you notice what looks like a pile of old letters that have been delivered. They are in a box and some are faded. You notice one postcard with tropical flowers; it has on old red air mail stamp on it. You stand trembling and read the message and look at the postmark. Postmarked 1 December 1941 Honolulu Terr: of Hawaii: "Dear Mother, we arrived yesterday. Will spend a few days in town and then off to our new duty station on Ford Island. Be careful, pet the old dog...

In missouri and throughout the wooded areas of the midwest, there is a common bond shared with japan, a kind of ikebana, but leaves and twigs instead of pedals and buds, both beautiful and noteworthy, both enough to make one stop and smell the roses......

In the shade
THE COMPLEXITIES OF A SIMPLE IMAGE IN BLACK AND WHITE BY MARY..........
MOST IMPRESSIVE IMAGE. THE LEAVES AD A SPECIAL BONUS TO THE HEAVY SHADOWS. THE WEIGHT OF THE IRON SIDING SOMEHOW HAS A SUBCONSCIOUS EFFECT ON THE MIND'S PERCEPTION THAT THE SHADOWS ARE, INDEED, HEAVY. CONTRAST THE SHADOW MADE BY A LIGHTER SHADOW PRODUCER, SAY ONE OF CARDBOARD; WHILE THE SHADOWS WOULD BE THE SAME IN VOLUME BLACK, THEY WOULD REGISTER IN THE MIND AS LIGHTER. THE IRON ON THE BENCH: IT CREATES THE DESIRE FOR TOUCH. SUMMARILY, THE PHOTO IS THOUGHT PROVOKING.

"ONE OF THE MOST UPBEAT PHOTOGRAPHS I HAVE VIEWED IN AGES," stated Earl R. Stonebridge, a writer living south of Laguna Beach. "It is the the type of floral photograph that does not fit into the wall flower genre," Earl stated. "The beauty of this dynamic photo is that it remains within the boundary of its composition despite its intense drama. This would serve to keep any sort of writer's block madness from getting the best of me if I could concentrate on it whenever such a mood might strike."
