KANSAS CITY LOVES COKE AND THE PLAZA

THIS ISN'T KATHY'S CLOWN, BUT HE'S IN TOWN. A POPULAR SPOT THAT MARKS A BUSY INTERSECTION IN THE PLAZA AREA. Look for this mythical figure just west of the J.C.Nichols Statue in Kansas City's Country Club Plaza Area.....

THE UPTOWN THEATER IS REALLY IN MIDTOWN, By R.L.Huffstutter

When one is uptown in Kansas City, Missouri, they are really in midtown, not downtown or not uptown, but imagine how this theater looked in the 1950s.

I can only imagine that there must have been lines of teenage girls wearing felt skirts with cutout poodles and cocktail glasses while their boyfriends wore white sport coats with pink carnations.

The shoes of both the boys and their girl friends? Black and white saddle oxfords. You can only imagine the hairstyles. Those were you future grandparents and/or parents out on a date at a classy picture show...Uptown in midtown Kansas City, Missouri. It is still a popular and active establishment today for concerts.

It was cool then. And it is cool now. In the summers, it is "air-cooled."
