TO LANDSCAPERS AND FLOWER GARDENERS, KEEP YOUR EYES TRAINED ON RANDOM BRICKS AND ROCKS. YOU KNOW WHAT YOU LIKE; YOU KNOW WHAT FOILAGE AND FLORAL CREATIONS YOU LIKE. SO COMBINE THEM IN REALITY AND THEN HAVE FUN PHOTOGRAPHING THEM IN VARIOUS MODES, IN VARIOUS LIGHTS. PAINTERS, IT'S UP TO YOU WHO CAN CONTROL THE LIGHT WITH A SECOND WASH OR NO WASH. CONGRATULATIONS TO jhhymas FOR TAKING TIME TO PHOTOGRAPH THIS SCENE. THERE IS A LOT OF CONTRASTING ELEMENTS IN THIS PHOTO, ANOTHER REASON IT IS, IN MY OPINION, AN ART PHOTO.

Victim Hood By James Robinson 2007

"THIS IS ONE OF THOSE PIECES OF ART THAT ONE VIEWS AT A DISTANCE FOR AWHILE. AND THEN, IN DUE TIME, ONE APPROACHES IT SLOWLY WITH THE KNOWLEDGE THAT ONLY TIME, COUPLED WITH EXTREME INSIGHT INTO THE HUMAN PSYCHE, WILL ENABLE ONE TO UNDERSTAND THE ARTIST'S INTENT IN THE CREATION OF SUCH A WORK." SO STATED EARL R. STONEBRIDGE RECENTLY AT A VIEWING OF ONLINE IMAGES NEAR THE LAGUNA BEACH AREA. THOSE PRESENT NODDED IN AGREEMENT WHILE ANOTHER ROUND OF BEVERAGES WERE SERVED.

A STATEMENT OF PURPOSE ABOUT THIS BLOG

NEW ARTISTS, NEW PHOTOGRAPHERS...BY R.L.HUFFSTUTTER

INTRODUCING NEW PHOTOGRAPHERS AND ARTISTS
VIEWERS WILL NOTICE A VARIETY OF NEW PHOTOS AND ART ARE BEING FEATURED ON THE PAGES OF THIS ONLINE PHOTO AND ART JOURNAL...

Where did these outstanding photos and terrific works of art originate? It's a long story, really. But without going into a lot of long and drawn out details, let me say that I found a new site where there are thousand of fantastic photos and works of art. Here is the site's name and website address:

http://www.flickr.com/

I needed a new location to post my work. I had heard abut the above site from some of my friends. They encouraged me to pack up my portfolios and head on over. "It's one fantastic gallery, a great site for exposure," stated Dave, a long-time friend whom I met on another gallery site. "You won't be sorry," he told me."You will meet some great people, photographers, artists, people who are really into the arts, people who are into autos, people with interests in all aspects of life." So, it was due to Dave's advice and others that I joined with the group. Here's my address:http://www.flickr.com/photos/huffstutterrobertl/

Please stop by and check out my photostream; it's full of some of my best work, my better photos and art. I am anxious for you to take a look.ABOUT THE NEW PHOTOS AND ART IN MY BLOG? BEGINNING BACK IN SEPTEMBER OF THIS YEAR, I BEGAN BROWSING THROUGH THE FLICKER PHOTOSTREAMS AND FOUND WORK THAT WAS TOTALLY AMAZING. I NOTED THEY OFFERED A BLOGGING OPTION FOR THOSE WHO PERMITTED THEIR WORK TO BE REVIEWED. FLICKR is copyrighted and is an official trademark

LIFE IS LIKE A GAME By Robert L. Huffstutter

IT'S A GAME, THIS LIFE WE LEAD DAY AFTER DAY, EACH DAY A LITTLE DIFFERENT THAN THE ONE THE DAY BEFORE. SOME, STRANGELY ENOUGH, MAKE A LIFETIME OF DIFFERENCES. THE DAY WHEN SOMEONE IS BORN AND THE DAY OR NIGHT WHEN SOMEONE DIES. THOSE DAYS ARE AS DIFFERENT AS DAY IS FROM NIGHT. WE LOVE THE BIRTHDAYS AND FEAR THE OTHERS.

TIME HAS LEFT ITS MARK ON OLD PHOTOS FROM ANOTHER ERA IN AMERICAN HISTORY. FEW STORIES REMAIN ABOUT WHO HAD FOUGHT FOR GRANT OR WHO, IF ANY, HAD FOUGHT FOR LEE, THEY WEREN'T ON MY SIDE OF THE FAMILY.
NEVERTHELESS, THEY WERE ALIVE BEFORE MY TIME AND OF THEM ALL, THE ONLY ONE I RECALL IS MY AUNT DOROTHY'S DAD, FRANK E. HAWTHORN, BORN IN the 1870s and DIED IN 1958. ALTHOUGH HE WASN'T KIN, HE WAS GRANDAD ALL THE SAME. HE WAS A GENTLEMAN FROM MANY GENERATIONS AGO, MANY GENERATIONS PAST. GENERATIONS PASS SO FAST AND ALTHOUGH WE EACH HAVE ONE THAT'S OURS, IT DOESN'T REALLY LAST. AND THAT'S GOOD. THAT'S WHAT BEING GRANDFATHERS AND GRANDSONS IS ALL ABOUT, ONE REPLACING THE OTHER IN DUE TIME. THE SAME, OF COURSE, MUST BE SAID OF GRANDMOTHERS AND YES, GRANDDAUGHTERS. LIFE AND GENERATIONS PAST ALMOST TOO FAST FOR ONE TO GET ACCUSTOMED TO BEFORE IT'S GONE. THAT'S TO SAY DEATH IS A SAD TIME TO COME AROUND SO OFTEN WHEN, IF IT WAS UP TO ME, IT WOULD BARELY EVER PAY A VISIT AT ALL EXCEPT IN THE STRANGEST OF CIRCUMSTANCES. BUT I'M NOT TO BLAME; IT'S NOT MY GAME AND I DIDN'T WRITE THE RULES. NO, I'M JUST A PLAYER LIKE THOSE WHO HAVE GONE ON AHEAD AND THOSE WHO WILL REMAIN LONG AFTER MY GAME ENDS.

A MOST CHALLENGING CLIMB IN INDIA by R.L.Huffstutter

WHILE BROWING THROUGH FLICKR, I NOTICED THIS IMAGE AND MY FIRST THOUGHT WAS CLIMBING IT. IT APPEARS MOST INTRIQUING AND BESIDES MISTY, IT LOOKS SOMEWHAT MISTICAL. I WAS CURIOUS IF IT WAS A NOTED SPOT FOR CLIMBING. I POSTED MY QUESTION.
The concept of climbing a rock face for sport in this part of India is not something the local authorities would know. Most probably they'll guide you to a road that leads up to the top... :-) The most common animals here are the spotted deers, the Chinkara (A smaller deer), Black Bucks, Blue Bulls (Largest in size from the deer family), Bears, Hyenas and Leopards. Tigers are found much deeper in the jungle. This place is just 2km fom the town of Katangi. Posted 28 hours ago. ( permalink )
THANKS FOR A PHOTO I CONSIDER AN ART PHOTO OF THE FIRST CLASS, and for taking time to fill me (and the readers of this blog) in on a bit of local history and information.

SNAPSHOTS OF A WEEKEND TRIP TO ST LOUIS WITH GRANDCHILDREN

A FEW DAYS IN ST LOUIS WITH OUR GRANDCHILDREN AND SOME PHOTOGRAPHS TO KEEP TO PROVE IT WAS A TRIP TO REMEMBER, A TRIP WE HOPE THEY WILL REMEMBER WHEN THEY TAKE TIME SOMEDAY TO TALK ABOUT THEIR CHILDHOOD DAYS AND MEMORIES OF THE TIME THEY WENT TO ST LOUIS FOR A WEEKEND ON THE TRAIN....SO I PUT AWAY THE WATERCOLOR I WAS WORKING ON AND GOT OUR BAGGAGE PACKED. WE VOWED TO TAKE ONLY A FEW THINGS, SOME NECESSARY THINGS FOR A WEEKEND. NO DICTIONAIRIES, NO NOVELS WE HAD BEEN WANTING TO READ. NO, NO NOVELS. WE HAD THE CHILDREN, EACH ONE A NOVEL IN THIER OWN UNIQUE WAY. SO HERE ARE A FEW OF THE SNAPSHOTS WE TOOK WHILE IN ST. LOUIS. I TOOK OVER 1,500, BUT I'LL ONLY INCLUDE THE ONES THAT THE CHILDREN LIKED AND LAUGHED ABOUT ONCE WE WERE BACK HOME.

MAKING MEMORIES WITH ART PHOTOS

we took a trip
to St, Louis on a train to
make some memories
while there's time to enjoy the Springtime of our grandchildren and our autumn time. It was the kind of trip that only happens once, though we plan on doing it again next year. It was a great time, unlike so many memories of everyday life. Oh, everyday life is great, it can't be improved on except when one takes some time out to make some memories on purpose. If the children smile thirty years from now when thoughts about it come to mind, it will have been worthwhile.

an art photo is

an image that creates

no anxiety and

has no sad reminder of

another place or

another time to create despondent

moods; it is not a reminder

of mortality. An art photo is

an entity of its own existance

and makes no

apoligies for any past sins

nor does it remind one of

sins left undone. No anxiety,

no fears, no tears allowed while

in touch with the art photo.
