WINETASTER'S CLUB SHOW OFF NEW SHADES BY R.L.HUFFSTUTTER

CALIFORNIA WINETASTERS SAVOR MISSOURI WINES
Several weeks ago a small group of California wine tasters traveled to Missouri wine country to try out a select collection of midwestern vintage wines. The members of the informal club who preferred to remain unidentified were all friends of Laguna Beach resident novelist, Earl R. Stonebridge. "Just a group of my favorite winos," Earl told the members of the local press who covered the event. Raised eyebrows and uncertain facial expressions of the local reporters required Earl to inform them he was just kidding about the "wino" status of his friends. Everyone seemed to become somewhat more relaxed after Earl clarified his comment as off-the-cuff and spur-of-the -moment humor.
